Project Coordinator - SHAWNA Project
Britt oversees the SHAWNA cohort coordinating both outreach and in-office activities for recruitment, retention and follow up with SHAWNA participants. She assists in clinical follow up and referrals, and is involved in the development of staff training and educational events. She has a long history of working across both the AESHA and SHAWNA cohorts as she initially started off as an outreach worker and interviewer with AESHA and has been involved with SHAWNA since its inception. She came to CGSHE with several years of community experience working in supported housing in the downtown eastside. She is a sex positive Options for Sexual Health trained educator who utilizes those skills and training in her everyday interactions with participants, colleagues and friends. She is passionate about connecting people with long term health and social supports and believes research can play an active role in doing so.
When she is not at work you can often find her at home tending to her pets and plants, absorbing many hours of Netflix and doing puzzles to keep her brain in shape as well as working on her soon to be launched Lovesick Podcast which explores dating, relationships and sexuality amongst people living with illness and disabilities.
