Director of Operations
Amber Stefanson (she/her) is the Director of Operations of the Centre for Gender and Sexual Health Equity. Amber has more than 15 years of experience in health research administration at the University of British Columbia and four years of NGO leadership. Most recently she served at the Active Aging Society, the Centre for Hip Health and Mobility and the Rick Hansen Institute. Amber has a strong interest in deepening her understanding of organization development and leading change within research and university education.In her role as Director of Operations, Amber oversees finance, human resources, IT, site/ facility operations, communications, and management of all aspects of non-research administration and operations teams. Working closely with the Executive Director and Associate Director, Amber is part of the Senior Leadership Team and is responsible for developing and overseeing policies and operations to align with strategic direction of CGSHE. Amber works closely with host organizations (UBC, SFU, PHC, PHCRI, Foundations) and develops, sustains, and enhances relationships with external funding partners. Outside of work, Amber is a rain-or-shine cyclist who loves to read and spend time with her family outdoors.
