MSc Student/Graduate Research Assistant
Kosy Onochie (she/her/hers) is a MSc student at UBC’s School of Population and Public health under the supervision of Dr. Kate Shannon. Before joining the centre, Kosy completed an Honours BA in Psychology with a minor in Human Rights from the University of Massachusetts Boston, Boston MA. Kosy grew up in Lagos, Nigeria before moving to Boston to pursue her undergraduate degree. After working as a mental counsellor with adults, she decided to further her education in a field that was less individualistic and more communal through community partnerships. Kosy’s thesis aims to explore the perceived effects of ART & PrEP on heterosexual serodiscordant relationships in Kisarawe, Tanzania with emphasis on sexual intimacy, quality of the relationship and decision-making.
