CGSHE regularly hosts or co-hosts roundtables on key policy issues concerning gender and sexual health equity.

Dialogue on Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Change Efforts (SOGICE), November 2019

This dialogue event discussing sexual orientation and gender identity change efforts (SOGICE) was co-hosted by CGSHE in partnership with the BC Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC), the Community-Based Research Centre (CBRC), and Simon Fraser University (SFU). This event gathered key figures to strategize around understanding and addressing the impacts of these harmful practices, and supporting survivors of SOGICE in developing a community-led research agenda. CGSHE’s Dr. Travis Salway and Drawing Change’s Sam Bradd organized the dialogue, and participants included keynote panelists from the CBRC Summit 2019. A report from the dialogue is forthcoming in early Spring 2020. For more information about our initiatives around SOGICE please contact us.
