Christie brings diverse community and research experience to the AESHA team and was attracted to the opportunity to explicitly combine frontline work with structural understandings of sex workers’ health and social needs. She has a Bachelor’s degree in social work and has experience working with vulnerable populations and is excited to apply frameworks including strengths-based practice, harm reduction, and trauma-informed practice to her work with AESHA. Christie’s background includes work with the Social Planning and Research Council of British Columbia (SPARC BC) as well as with marginalized women and children through community programmes at the YWCA. Christie is passionate about supporting the intersections between knowledge generation and community engagement, the development of collaborative networks, and pragmatic action for growth and change.
