CGSHE has provided resources to support academic and community partners to mobilize evidence from creating and supporting social media campaigns, community-academic book launches, designing policy briefs and reports to hosting roundtables, organizing press conferences and launching academic open letters to federal, provincial, and local leaders. CGSHE has supported and facilitated researchers to provide expert evidence and testimony at the Supreme Court of Canada and the Canadian House of Commons Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights, in collaboration with community partners including West Coast Leaf. Â
CGSHE and affiliated UBC/ SFU faculty have played key roles on policy and practice guidelines over the last decade, including the following international, national, and local guidelines committees:UNAIDS/NSWP expert consultations on HIV & sex work,BC Ministry of Health Provincial Sexual Health Framework, City of Vancouver Sex Work Taskforce, Gender Equity Advisory,Global Commission on HIV and the Law Recommendations, CTN National Trans Advisory Committee,Transcare BC Advisory Committee,WHO Department of Reproductive Health, and Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW).
CGSHE also served as the inaugural Canadian host for World Sexual Health Day facilitating an interdisciplinary digital space for community organizations, policy makers and researchers to showcase their events and resources promoting sexual health for all.
