Sex Work Association of Jamaica (SWAJ)
Kingston, Jamaica
The Sex Work Association of Jamaica (SWAJ) was formed in 2007. The aim of the Association is to confront issues facing sex worker in Jamaica, work to build the capacity of sex workers and empower them to advocate on their own behalf. Core activities are in Kingston, Ocho Rios and Montego Bay. The coalition works with male, female and transgender sex workers where our main focus is on human and workers rights, education and advocacy at all levels of the Jamaican society. The SWAJ is a sex worker led organisation with more than 80% of the executive being sex workers. SWAJ envisions a Jamaica where sex work is work and the dignity of all sex workers is restored by the policies that a responsible government puts in place in keeping with the Fundamental Principles of Human Rights.
