MD Curriculum Audit – Integrating Gender Equity and Addressing Cisnormativity

The Integrating Gender Equity and Addressing Cisnormativity curricular audit project was funded by the University of British Columbia’s Faculty of Medicine Strategic Investment Fund, with in-kind funding and resource support from CGSHE Gender Equity Advisor, research management, and science communication support from CGSHE.

Medical education is routinely cited as a critical site of intervention to improve care for intersex, trans, nonbinary and Two-Spirit people. While education alone cannot address the structural inequities that shape health care, identifying and addressing gaps in medical education will help to improve clinical encounters between intersex, trans, nonbinary and Two-Spirit patients and providers.
